Table Flag in NICKEL-PLATED Brass – the Swedish Flag

This table flag is made in the traditional way flagpoles once were—handcrafted in solid brass, paired with a hand-sewn cotton flag, and created with a respect for craftsmanship that unites tradition, quality, and history.

The flag is mounted on an elegant brass flagpole with a sturdy, round base. The halyard runs freely, allowing the flag to be raised and lowered just like on a traditional flagpole. The base is extra heavy to ensure weight and stability.

The flagpole stands approximately 45 cm tall, which is taller than most table flags on the market. The base plate has a diameter of 11 cm, with a rim measuring 1.5 cm in height.

The plate is particularly well suited for engraving—either on the top surface or discreetly along the edge. Engraving is offered as an optional extra; current prices can be found under the heading Engraving.

The table flag is delivered in a white presentation box, with the flag securely placed in custom-cut protective foam. The product is also available in high-polished brass.

A flag for both celebration and everyday life

Let the flag adorn the table at birthdays, holidays, christenings, workplace celebrations, or meetings with international guests. It is also a timeless interior detail that adds character and a sense of pride all year round. As a christening gift, it becomes especially personal when engraved with, for example, name, time of birth, date of birth, christening date, weight, and length.

The history of the Swedish flag

The Swedish flag traces its origins back to the 16th century, when King Gustav Vasa introduced a blue banner with a golden cross—colors drawn from the three crowns of the national coat of arms. The inspiration came from Denmark’s Dannebrog, but Sweden chose its own colors: sky blue and sun yellow.

From the king’s ships to the people’s flag—since 1906, the blue-and-yellow cross flag has been established as Sweden’s national symbol. Blue represents loyalty and the sky, while yellow symbolizes light and generosity. On June 6, we celebrate both Sweden’s National Day and Swedish Flag Day—a tribute to our country, our history, and the symbol that unites us under the same blue-and-yellow cross.
