Care Instructions for Pewter by Munka Sweden

Pewter is a soft metal that melts at relatively low temperatures. Therefore, it's important to keep an eye on burning candles that are close to burning down in the candle holder. The best way to avoid this is to not let it happen, but to extinguish the candle flame in good time before any imminent danger.

Pewter should preferably not be polished, but simply washed with warm water and a little hand dish soap to remove grease stains and fingerprints. Absolutely do not run the pewter in the dishwasher - it will become scratched and dull from it.

Unlike silver, pewter stays fresh and shiny for many years.

If you still wish to freshen up your pewter items, we recommend seeking professional assistance for this.
